Book clubs: Connecting to readers everywhere

For as long as I’ve been writing, book clubs have been at the heart of my connection to readers. When Henna House was released, I launched my 100 Book Club Challenge—and ended up meeting with more than two hundred book clubs in living rooms, libraries, synagogues, classrooms, and over Zoom screens across the country.

Book club visits remain one of my favorite parts of being an author. I love hearing how readers interpret character choices, debate turning‑point scenes, trace the threads of history, and connect the narrative to their own lives. Your questions push me deeper. Your insights change the way I write my next books.

I loved feeling for brief moments, the deep affection within book clubs. And I loved how so many of the book clubs I visited were connected to each other. During the middle of my journey, I was passed like an author baton through five bookclubs connected by sisters, sisters-in-law, mothers and mother-in-law. It was magical!

And now, as I prepare to release two new novels, I’d love to start building the next chain of conversations.

Whether you’ve been with me since The Family Orchard or you’re discovering my work for the first time, I would be honored to join your book club in person or by zoom. Your enthusiasm is the quiet engine behind every story I write. I can’t wait to share these new journeys with you.
